Adjustments
What is it?
High velocity low amplitude (HVLA) thrusts or more commonly known as adjustments involve precise, quick movements applied to joints which will often elicit a ‘pop’ or ‘crack’. It is a common misconception that these noises are from the bones. The ‘pop’ or ‘crack’ is a result of gas bubbles popping within the joint fluid. These bubbles will develop due to the change in pressure within the joint when the technique is being performed.
